McCormick Family
We began thinking about a destination home further away - Mexico, Hawaii, Palm Springs - which made financial sense but wouldn't have been a good family investment. We started looking closer to home. We looked at Whistler and decided we wanted something more family-oriented and less transient. We looked at the Interior and said the 4-5 hour drive wasn't worth it, neither was attempting that drive in the winter. We saw an ad for The Cottages in the Vancouver Sun, drove out that weekend and purchased our cottage that same week. It's ironic that after all the searching we found exactly what we were looking for right in our backyard, and we don't have a border crossing or a plane ride to get there. We drive up after work on Friday and leave late Sunday night - our weekends feel like we are always on vacation. We love going down to the lake, swimming in the pools and hanging out with our neighbours around a campfire, but our favorite thing has to be the uninterrupted time we get to spend with our kids. We definitely feel a part of something special.

Proskin Family
Our family purchased our cottage back in 2007. Being from Ontario, my fondest childhood memories took place at our family cottage. The idea, that I could offer my children the same magical memories within 75 minutes of the city got me very excited. I love that The Cottages is close enough to the city - we can drive up for an evening or part of a weekend if that's all the time we have. I knew it would be great, but it has turned into more than we had ever imagined. Our kids are able to run and play with the kind of freedom we knew as kids. They are outside all day running with any mix of their 20+ friends that they have here. They love riding their bikes around the community, creating chalk art with their friends on the streets, hosting lemonade stands, building forts in the forest and I love the peace of mind knowing that they are safe in our gated oasis. We always join in on community campfires, potluck dinners, movie nights outside in the park, family outings to the lake or waterslides, watching fireworks over the long weekends, mini golf, and so much more. There is no end to activities for the whole family! As for my husband and I, we have made lifelong friends here. We get quality time together as a couple while our kids keep themselves entertained. Most of all, our cottage offers uninterrupted quality time with family and friends. When we drive in the gates, our everyday life melts away and we are able to be present with the ones we love the most.

Pierlot Family
We purchased our family cottage in the summer of 2010 after watching the progress of this gated community from our long time RV vacation spot at Thousand Trails next door. Being so close to our home in the metro Vancouver, we were excited about an opportunity to enjoy the recreational activities of the Cultus Lake area on a year round basis.
With retirement looming, The Cottages at Cultus Lake has given us a glimpse of that next stage as we have met many new friends here and enjoy the friendly atmosphere of the many gatherings and social events that occur.
The Cottages is a wonderful mix of young families, empty nesters and retired people where even our adult children and grandchildren love to come and enjoy the pool, clubhouse or just relax.
Originally purchased as a legacy recreational property for weekends and family gatherings, our cottage may just become our retirement home.
